Having brought a breath of fresh air to the Turkish Tourism with a great opening ceremony in 2007, our hotel greeted the third season after two successful seasons with the traditional summer opening party.
 

The Ela Hotel believes that investment in human resources is the basic element for any success, naturally in our field, too. Our staff receives extensive training in our Academy Q every year before opeing the season. We are proud to welcome and pamper our guests with an even better qualified and successful team.

The employees of the Antalya branch offices of the leading tour operators and travel agencies from different markets extending from the Europe to the Balkans, from Scandinavia to the Baltic States, and from CIS countries to the Middle East Countries as well as the press and media representatives came together at Ela Quality Resort on the weekend of May 23-24.

The Shaman Show in the amphitheatre after the Barbecue Party held on the meadow won great recognition. While the rhythm of the night increased gradually in the dock party where the music and dance united, the DJ performance that turned into an unforgettable audiovisual show with the violin show and the laser created a great ambience. The breakfast accompanied by harp music on the lawn was taken in the morning of the party that lasted until the early hours of the morning. A cheerful start into the tourism season for the representatives of the tourism sector.

THE ELA QUALITY RESORT HOTEL WAS AWARDED THE EUROPESPA CERTIFICATE!

The quality of service and infrastructure of the AB-I ZEN Spa & Rituals Lounge, a trademark of Ela Quality Resort, was awarded with the EUROPESPA WELLNESS certificate, proving that it meets high European quality standards.
Under the living conditions that are becoming more difficult and with the ageing population structure, the Europeans are gradually becoming more aware of “healthy life”. The spa sector that is rapidly developing in the world offers new insights and targets nowadays. This situation brings together new research and efforts in the European health system and a high-quality service understanding in healthcare practices. The number of new trend and new generation spa centres is increasing rapidly. The progress and development in this sector is led by ESPA (European SPA Association). The European Spa Association (ESPA) has more than 1200 members of spa and health centres from 22 countries and 25 federations. It aims to improve and/or guarantee the European quality standards at spa and treatment centres.
Our AB-I ZEN Spa & Loung is a member of TURKAP (Association of Thermal Springs, Thalasso and Treatment Centers) and a member of the European Spas Association (ESPA) and thus has an international character.

AB-I ZEN Spa & Rituals Lounge, an Ela Quality Resort trademark, has finally been awarded with EUROPESPA WELLNESS certificate, verifying that service and infrastructure meet the European quality standards, which was issued after a series of inspections and audits performed by ESPA throughout the entire hotel.

In 2009, only three hotels from Turkey have applied for EUROPESPA WELLNESS certificate under the organisation of TURKAP (Turkish Association of Thermal Springs) and as a result of the inspections, two hotels were awarded with this certificate. Although it i regrettable in respect of health tourism in Turkey that the number of hotels awarded with EUROPESPA WELLNESS certificates is only three, while the number of hotels in awarded with EUROPESPA WELLNESS certificates is about 70-75 in Germany, we are sure that this award will help us on our way to even improving future developments of the AB-I ZEN Spa & Rituals Lounge.
 
With this certificate, Ela Quality Resort Hotel will be listed in the web sites of the ESPA and associated institutions as well as through the search engines on the lists of recommended hotels. The official recognition of this certification by the tour operators selling the European leading SPA & WELLNESS such as TUI VITAL and FIT REISEN, etc. will guarantee the improvement of spa service quality and the further development of spa tourism in the European region.

INVESTMENT IN HUMAN RESOURCES FOR SUCCESS IN TOURISM... ACADEMY Q WENT INTO THE SUMMER SEASON WITH ITS GRADUATES OF THE 2nd PERIOD!

Having created the biggest difference in the Mediterranean through taking the first step in the service industry following its philosophy of “investment in human capital for success in tourism…”, Ela Quality Resort has made a long-term investment in the region in which some hotels are closed down in the winter months and provides for all of its employees a series of comprehensive training courses from customer contact to language education.
In our hotel, in which Academy Q was established with a great investment in the very early stage of construction for instilling the awareness of quality in service into all of its employees, every member of the staff can offer services to our guests only after successful completion of specific training provided before the starting date of employment.
Academy Q that was put into operation before the opening of our hotel in 2007 has opened its doors. This January a new training programme started, with its heavy curriculum and participants who have dedicated themselves to the service industry.

Our team-mates participate in a series of training at Academy Q which range from foreign language training to personal development, from on-the-job training to such training courses through which they can develop their managerial skills; and thus, they both develop themselves and offer superior services to our guests.
Another point that distinguishes Academy Q 2 is that its training programme is prepared by our Training Group composed of the hotel managers in accordance with the requests received from the departments and thus considers the requirements.

While 144 hours of foreign language (English, German and Russian) training was provided per person until the end of March, 150 employees were prepared for the season at Academy Q with a training programme of 587 hours in total, covering the management skills, personal development, interviewing techniques, training of the coach, sales and marketing, stress management and in-house regulations, etc. Upon completion of the training courses, the employees took examinations and our team mates who successfully passed the exam, received the Academy Q–2 Certificate of Achievement.

In addition to the training courses oriented toward personal development, the social activities such as tournaments and motivation excursions, etc. are encouraged. We are take pride in working with a very important name, Mr. Prof. Dr. İlhan Erdoğan in the trainings organized for personal development. In the courses lectured by Mr. Erdoğan who also serves as the consultant of our institution, we store into our memories knowledge about ourselves, and about life and our services; and we are happy to implement what we learn into our jobs and our private life.

It is of no doubt that the rate of “loyal guests” that has been increasing gradually thanks to the debonair customised service understanding and the high-quality services provided for the guests is the greatest award granted to Academy Q.

Having become an indispensable address for holidays with the family thanks to its Family Concept, Ela Quality Resort allowed the children to gain an unforgettable experience with the “Tree Planting Festival” we organized by it on the World Environment Day.

Believing that the green environment is one of the most fundamental conditions of leading a healthy life, Ela Quality Resort celebrated the World Environment Day on June 5 through planting trees with its small guests in order to share this awareness with the members of Everland Q Children Club.

The children experienced again the privilege of being at Ela Quality in their holidays through driving stakes bearing their names on them next to the seedlings that they have planted. The families also shared this excitement with the children. The Tree Planting Festival which aimed to raise environmental awareness and to instil the love of nature to the next generation despite the gradual increase in the environmental disasters caused by the environmental pollution and global warming came to an end by distribution of the “tree planting certificates” to the children.

Ela Quality Resort became entitled to receive EUROSPA WELLNESS certificate, which is the certificate for European spa quality and standards, thanks to AB-I ZEN Spa & Rituals Lounge within its company structure, and its service and infrastructure quality.

European Spa Quality Director Dr: Kurt von Storch and Turkish Spa, Thalasso and Cure Association Chairman Prof. Dr. Zeki Karagülle and Ela Quality Resort Hotel Operating Manager Murat Kodan and Spa Manager Bora Özkurt were present at the award ceremony organized at Ela Quality Resort Hotel in Belek, the precious tourism centre of Turkey, where the emerald colour of pine forests and the turquoise colour of Mediterranean blend.

Ab-ı Zen Spa & Lounge, which is a brand of Ela Quality Resort Hotel, was awarded with the EUROPESPA WELLNESS certificate by the European Spa Union, the most important certification institution of Europe in this field, thanks to its service and infrastructure quality. Ela Quality Resort Hotel welcomes its guests in the AB-I ZEN Spa & Wellness centre and proudly presents the unique infrastructure and highly trained staff. It will be included in web pages connected with this organisation, the list of their recommended hotels and the web sites of tour operators in the field of health tourism in Europe, and can be found through search engines thanks to this certificate.

“400 requirements were successfully fulfilled”


European Spa Union Quality Director Dr. Kurt von Storch, who made a speech at the award ceremony, stated that the compliance with 400 different requirements such as safety, hygiene, infrastructure and equipment, therapy, physical structure and service quality applicable in all countries is defined as SPA; that Ela Quality Resort Hotel proved it meets European SPA quality standards by passing all these stages during inspections and audits, and that it became entitled to receive this certificate. Storch, who pointed out to the significance of being awarded this certificate by European Spa Union as a non-profit organisation, stated that "The leading tour operators of Europe consider these certificates and direct their customers to hotels in possession of EUROSPA WELLNESS certificate. The best hotels in Europe are under our umbrella, it is a real privilege to have this certificate”.

“Only 3 resorts in Turkey have this certificate”


Turkish Spa, Thalasso and Cure Association Chairman Prof. Dr. Zeki Karagülle stated in his speech that the term SPA means a wellness concept which blends health and rest together, and is gaining considerable attention worldwide; that tourism facilities operating in this field come into prominence. Mr. Karagülle, who stated that the European Spa Union in Brussels, of which Turkish Spa, Thalasso and Cure Association is a member, has 22 member countries, pointed out that quality criteria were implemented in thermal and Spa – Wellness fields in Europe for over 5 years and only 40 facilities possessed such certificate in Europe despite the fact that the European Spa Union has 2000 member hotels, and that only 3 facilities apart from the Ela Quality Resort Hotel became entitled to receive such certificate in Turkey.

“The Ela Quality Resort is on European Standard”


Mr. Karagülle stated that the certification process was very severe, and 400 criteria were considered during inspections, and pointed out that at least 80 points from 100 had to be achieved during assessments. Ela Quality Resort Hotel became entitled to receive EUROPESPA WELLNESS certificate by successfully fulfilling such criteria. Karagülle said: "Turkey has an important place in health tourism. Antalya shall be the shining star of SPA-Welness in the future. Ela Quality Resort Hotel received this certificate thanks to its quality in compliance with European standards as a whole".

“100 percent natural”


AB-I ZEN Spa & Rituals Lounge, designed for complete resting and spiritual balance, uses 100% organic and natural products in one hundred and sixty different care and massage treatments.

Bora Özkurt, Manager of Ab-ı Zen Spa & Rituals Lounge, which is a brand of Ela Quality Resort, also provided information on the centre. Özkurt pointed out that Ab-ı Zen, which means small pond in Ottoman Turkish, has a total of 27 treatment rooms, 22 indoors and 5 outdoors, built on an area of 4500 square metres; he pointed out that the Ela Quality Resort with its individual service philosophy was the “apple of the eye” of the tourism and that the SPA certificate was a privilege. 100% natural products would be used in the spa centre and that respect to nature was the most important characteristic.

Ela Quality Resort Hotel ranked 6th among 1674 Turkish hotels in the Mediterranean basin and 1st in Belek.

Ela Quality Resort that opened its doors on 26 May 2007 with a great inauguration ceremony attended by Mr. Jean-Claude Baumgarten, President of WTTC (Word Travel and Tourism Council) and Ufi Ibrahim, Chief Operations Officer of the organization, and which is one of the most expensive investments of the Belek region, had it success accredited this time by its guests from all over the world.

Ela Quality Resort made it into the list of “Best 99 Hotels of the World” in 2010 based on customer reviews and ratings on HolidayCheck portal, which offers online sales and is one of the most reliable travel and holiday portals of the world with the system it established.

According to the statistics based on impressions of more than 200 thousand visitors to 200 countries of the world, Ela Quality Resort is the number 1 hotel of Belek and 6th among 1674 hotels in the Mediterranean basin.
General Coordinator Vadi Karatopraklı stated that this award was a gift after a quite heavy season despite the crisis, which they completed with success, but he added that it was not a surprise. Karatopraklı summarized the secret of this success as follows:

“All tourism authorities today accept that Turkey hosts the best hotels of the world with superior service quality. On the HolidayCheck portal, which is one of the biggest in the world, there are more than 2 million reviews for about 81.000 hotels all around the world, and it makes us proud that Turkey ranks first with 38 hotels according to these reviews. Turkey is followed by Germany with 14 hotels and Austria with 13 hotels.

ELA QUALITY RESORT HOTEL HAS CROWNED AGAIN ITS QUALITY IN GASTRONOMY…

Having previously received numerous awards, Ela Quality Resort Hotel received several awards at the 7th International Istanbul Gastronomy Festival bringing together the professional cooks and gastronomy-lovers from the World and Turkish cuisine.

The festival organized in 2008 with the participation of 1200 cooks from Turkey and 800 cooks from 20 foreign countries is considered as one of the most important competitions of the world in this field. In the festival held at TUYAP since March 21, nearly 1684 cooks participating from numerous countries including especially the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, France, Bulgaria, Greece, Azerbaijan, Russia, Canada, Ukraine, and Romania, etc. have competed with each other for winning medals in various fields in this year. In the competition held with the participation of 150 chefs in the jury committee that was composed of international jury members, Ela Quality Resort team was also deemed worthy to receive several awards in different branches.

In the competition, Ela Quality Resort Hotel was represented by the Executive Sous Chef,  Muzaffer Aydın who was also in the National Team of Cooks, the Chef of French Cuisine, Ferhat Ülker and the Kitchen Decoration Artist, Abdi Gündüz .

The team that left behind 40 rival teams in total, including 20 national and 20 foreign teams was awarded with the Gold Prize in the section of Masters of Lamb Dishes with its dish of “Pekmezde Pişirilmiş Ayva Eşliğinde Kuzu Küşnemesi” (Lamb Cooked in Grape Molasses with Quince) from the menu of Kuşhane A La Carte Restaurant of the hotel serving samples from the Ottoman Palace cuisine.

In the competition, the dish named “Somon Kek Üzerine Morel Mantarı Dolması” (Stuffed Morel Mushroom on Salmon Cake) offered in the menu of La Passion A La Carte Restaurant of the hotel serving samples from the French Cuisine was awarded the Bronze Prize in the Masters of Mushroom Dishes Section.

In the Modern Cuisine Section, another section where no gold prize was awarded, the dish named “Bıldırcına Sarılı Karides ve Taze Baharatlarla Panelenmiş Dana Bonfilesi” (Shrimp Wrapped in Quails and Beef Steak Blended with Fresh Spices) offered in the menu of La Perla Italian A La Carte Restaurant of the hotel allowed Ela Quality Resort Team to be awarded with the Silver Prize.
